AVP, HR Business Partner

Accountability Statement

The AVP, HR Business Partner acts as trusted advisor and partner to the senior leadership teams and work together to meet business objectives, proactively identify and prioritize critical business opportunities and develop human capital solutions. Activities in this role include building a human capital strategy for the market, employee relations, coaching on performance management, facilitating succession planning, advising on total compensation and pay equity, driving diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and training employees.

Job Functions Responsibilities:
  • Act as trusted advisor and partner to the senior leadership teams and work together to meet business objectives, proactively identify and prioritize critical business opportunities and develop business solutions.
  • Plan, design and own the execution of innovative HR solutions in core people processes including organizational design and effectiveness, talent planning, succession planning, recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, employee relations, total rewards/compensation, performance management, diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and leadership development in collaboration with appropriate Centers of Excellence colleagues and HR partners.
  • Champion organizational culture, diversity, equity and inclusion with a focus on the client and employee experience.
  • Apply continuous improvement approach to influence and ensure our future success by coaching senior leaders, leading/facilitating teams, deploying resources, collaborating with partners and leading/driving change.
  • Works closely with HR COE’s, management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy and procedural guidance and interpretation.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required. Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Examines trends and metrics in partnership with the HR COE’s and Management to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and impartial investigations.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Participates; diversity hiring activities, college/campus hiring, job fairs and community outreach programs to support the organization and build the VyStar brand in the community.
  • Participates in ad hoc HR and business projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of human resources leadership experience. Experience working in Financial Services industry preferred.
  • Broad business acumen - experience anticipating and understanding business needs and objectives and driving valuable and aligned strategies and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. Including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, talent acquisition and federal and state employment law.
  • History of successfully influencing others and leading organizational change initiatives
  • Ability to analyze and quickly use data for storytelling and inspiring change to drive positive business outcomes. Experience developing and using HR dashboards preferred.
  • Ability to toggle between strategic and tactical with a willingness to "roll up their sleeves"
  • Continuous self
    -development and professional networking to stay on top of emerging and progressive ideas and practices
  • Highly proficient in MS Office Suite to include;
    Office, Word, Excel, Power Point. Technology proficient in integrated cloud-based HR systems preferred.
