The Compensation Analyst supports the development and administration of compensation programs by analyzing market data, evaluating jobs, and assessing internal equity. This role works with large datasets to identify trends, develop insights, and provide clear recommendations to support compensation decisions.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to translate complex data into clear and actionable information for business leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market pricing and job evaluations to assess the competitiveness of compensation programs.
  • Perform internal equity analyses and identify potential pay disparities or inconsistencies.
  • Support job architecture, job leveling, and role classification activities.
  • Analyze compensation data from internal and external sources to identify trends and market benchmarks.
  • Work with large datasets in Excel to organize, analyze, and synthesize information.
  • Develop reports, summaries, and recommendations that clearly communicate compensation findings.
  • Research applicable minimum wage requirements and support compliance with compensation-related regulations.
  • Maintain accurate compensation data and documentation.
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to gather information and support compensation-related decisions.
  • Manage assigned projects independently while working within established priorities, guidelines, and deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, reporting, and data quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in compensation, HR analytics, HR operations, financial analysis, or a related analytical function.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify trends, and synthesize findings into clear recommendations.
  • Understanding of job evaluation, market pricing, internal equity, and job leveling concepts.
  • Knowledge of minimum wage requirements and compensation-related regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with guidance from leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate data into practical business recommendations.
