Job Title: Technology – Application Analyst
Job Type: Jacksonville, FL Hybrid (Must be local)
Duration: Contract to Hire – approx. 6 months (based on performance)
POSITION SUMMARY
Professional role responsible for performing or assisting in the planning, analysis, and implementation of information technology systems. Consults with business users to determine technology and application system requirements. May provide technical advice and guidance to less experienced analysts.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Proficient – Working understanding of required competencies, including both proficient and advanced skills, sufficient to successfully apply them under general supervision.
- Information systems analysis, design, programming, and installation
- Programming languages and coding techniques
- Computer hardware, software, and data communications functionality and capabilities
- Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables and tools
- Basic process management, performance tracking, and measurement tools
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and best practices
Proficient Skill In:
- Designing and developing seamless connections between systems
Advanced Skill In:
- Using Technology Services change management processes
- Using and supporting various client-based applications
- Testing application installations, enhancements, and upgrades

EXAMPLES OF PROFESSIONAL WORK
- Consults with internal customers to analyze current operational processes and systems and recommends technology solutions, hardware, and software aligned with business goals
- Evaluates user requests to determine feasibility, estimate cost and time requirements, and assess compatibility with existing system configurations
- Works with users to map current operating procedures and define application objectives
- Establishes decision matrices and procedures for system, job flow, and database restoration
- Coordinates workarounds and recovery efforts
- Installs and tests hardware and software, evaluating suitability and compatibility
- Coordinates implementation of programs, products, job flows, subsystems, and databases
- Monitors production systems and databases and initiates correction and restoration actions
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, clarity, accessibility, and timeliness of project and user documentation
- Resolves operational issues and provides technical support and training for application enhancements and upgrades
- Enforces established technical and procedural standards
- Develops or modifies programs to support performance tracking
- Assists in preparing documented proposals
- Assists with application reengineering, replacement of inadequate applications, and enhancement of existing systems
- Participates in disaster recovery testing
- Resolves escalated issues and refers complex problems to higher-level support
- Engages in ongoing training to continuously enhance technical knowledge and skills
- Performs other related duties as assigned
PERSONAL CONTACTS
Regular interaction with users across work groups to gather and clarify information, coordinate problem resolution, and provide technical support.
OPEN REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Development/Engineering, or a related field plus two (2) years of relevant experience
- OR
- Six (6) years of combined education, training, and relevant experience
Professional experience must be in the specific computer systems analysis, software development, and/or system configuration discipline being recruited.
