Our client is currently seeking a qualified Network Service Technician to join their team onsite in Jacksonville, FL and provide end‑user support.
Work ScheduleMonday – Friday, day shift. The position requires flexibility to work scheduled projects after hours, with events scheduled in advance.
Duties And Responsibilities- Maintain the network environment as part of the onsite team in support of physical touch (Smart Hands) support of Incidents and/or Requests.
- Provide incident support by working with remote level 2/3 teams to resolve outages and fix issues, including replacement of cabling or hardware components.
- Provide service request support and work with remote network support teams to install hardware or patch cables to enable new services for customers.
- Participate in hardware rack and stack installation of both network and server equipment, cable management, and installation of required fiber and copper patch leads; provide console access to remote teams for configuration if required and test connectivity after installation and configuration.
- Associate or bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) required from an accredited institution; experience may substitute for education (three years of progressive experience per year of education).
- Minimum 3+ years of combined experience in a site support technician and/or infrastructure technician role (or similar).
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in racking, stacking, connecting, and providing basic configuration support of networking or server devices.
- Minimum 3+ years of combined experience working in data centers, labs, or server room environments.
- Data center experience required.
- Proven ability to install cable pathways and conveyances (i.e., ladder, trays, support systems).
- Knowledge of terminology relating to installation and service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security, and wireless systems.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read cable matrix blueprints and mechanical or electrical requirement documents.
- Ability to complete physical cable installations and removal of cabling components, TOR (top of rack) switches, pathway systems (cable tray), and move equipment, network gear and related communications infrastructure hardware and materials.
- SCADA experience.
- Structured Network Cabling experience
- Copper:
Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Connector Types RJ45 - Fiber:
Multimode, Single Mode, Connector Types – ST, SC, LC
- Copper:
- WIFI hardware experience
- Wireless LAN Controllers
- Wireless Access Points
- Networking experience
- IP Addressing, Layer 2 VLAN, etc.
- Experienced in Ethernet Switching hardware
- Chassis, Supervisor, Line Cards, Power Supplies, etc.
- Transceiver Types – SX, LX, SR, LR, etc.
- Cable Troubleshooting Knowledge / Experience
- Fluke Testers:
Copper – Wire Map, Link Test, etc.;
Fiber – OTDR Testing - Fluke Aircheck:

The rate for this position is between $28.13 – $41.25 per hour. Starting pay within this range may be influenced by geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
