Position: Senior Team Lead, Field Network Cabling Installation (NC)

Senior Team Lead, Network Field Cabling Installation

This role requires leading and managing a team of network cabling installation engineers. The team will design, install, maintain, and manage network cabling systems across the organization’s facilities, including data centers, offices, and remote sites. The Senior Team Lead collaborates with cross‑functional teams, oversees projects, and ensures a robust and reliable network infrastructure.

Location:

North Carolina (on‑site).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of network cabling installation engineers while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance environment.
  • Plan, execute, and complete network cabling projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, network engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for network cabling infrastructure to support the organization’s IT and business objectives.
  • Assess future capacity needs and technology trends to guide infrastructure planning.
  • Ensure installations meet industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Conduct quality assessments and inspections of completed installations.
  • Allocate resources efficiently—including personnel, equipment, and budget—to support cabling projects.
  • Monitor project budgets and resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of cabling layouts, diagrams, test results, and project records.
  • Generate reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment for cabling projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
  • Ensure all cabling installations adhere to safety protocols, industry regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency in network cabling operations.
Qualifications
  • Seasoned proficiency in project management principles and tools.
  • Seasoned knowledge of network cabling standards, copper, and fiber optic cabling systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Stays updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Developing ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations effectively and work in a fast‑paced environment.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Preferred certifications: BICSI RCDD, Cisco CCNA.
Required Experience
  • Seasoned experience in a similar role and within an IT services organization.
  • Seasoned experience in network cabling installation.
  • Developing experience managing field cabling installation engineers.
