Senior Data Analytics & Informatics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analytics & Informatics Specialist to provide technical leadership in the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics solutions. This role combines technical expertise, project leadership, and data-driven decision making to support operational improvements and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, deep analytical experience, and the ability to guide teams in leveraging data to drive performance improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership (50%)

• Lead the design, testing, and deployment of advanced analytics solutions.
• Provide mentorship, training, and support to informatics staff and end users to improve system adoption and technical proficiency.
• Perform advanced programming, modeling, and statistical analysis.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive innovative analytics solutions.

Operations (30%)

• Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and best-practice documentation.
• Ensure data systems align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and data governance standards.
• Independently lead large-scale projects and cross-functional work groups supporting organizational strategies.

Reporting & Data Analysis (20%)

• Monitor system performance metrics and drive continuous improvement using analytics tools.
• Deliver accurate and timely reporting and analysis to support business initiatives and operational decisions.
• Design data visualizations using appropriate software tools.
• Conduct complex data analysis and data profiling to establish and maintain data models.
• Identify trends through data analysis to support clinical decision-making and performance improvements.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Analytics, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
• High School Diploma or GED
• 6+ years of related work experience
• Proven experience managing complex projects from concept through deployment
• Strong understanding of data governance principles and healthcare regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in R, SQL, SAS, and/or Python
• Strong data mining and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights
• Basic knowledge of statistics
• Basic knowledge of Medicare Part A and Part B programs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Strong technical documentation and writing skills

Preferred

• Master’s degree in a related technical field
• Experience analyzing Medicare claims, provider, and beneficiary data
• Working knowledge of:
• Medical terminology
• CPT, ICD-9, and HCPCS coding structures
• Experience working with relational databases
• Business process design and requirements development experience
• Project Management Certification
• Python programming experience
