Application Support Engineer

Duration: 12 months (with extensions up to 18 and 24 months)

Jacksonville, FL (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week)

Pay Scale: $40-43/hr W2 (Cannot subcontract or C2C)

Matlen Silver is actively recruiting an Application Support Engineer consultant that will play a critical role in maintaining application stability and minimizing downtime through proactive incident management and rapid resolution of technical issues. This position ensures the stability and availability of multiple applications through 24x7 incident management. This includes leading incident resolution calls, performing troubleshooting, and managing escalations to restore services promptly.

• Drive incident triage and resolution calls as the call leader, ensuring rapid restoral of services.
• Document and maintain detailed triage notes, including impact analysis for incident reporting.
• Craft clear, concise, and accurate incident communications and post-incident reports to keep stakeholders well-informed.
• Ensure data integrity and quality in incident management tools.
• Identify production failures, creating incident and problem tickets as needed.
• Utilize Splunk, Dynatrace, and other diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.
• Provide executive summaries and tailored communications to stakeholders.
• Continuously assess and enhance incident management processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce recurring issues.
• Develop and maintain administrative, operational, and technical policies and procedures.

• Enterprise production support experience working in a Level 1 or 2 incident, problem, and release management support capacity.
• Ability to deal with a high pressure and manage oneself in an environment of high frequency business and technology changes adhering to release and change management principles.
• Hands-on troubleshooting experience of UNIX/Linux OS, relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and applications developed in Java or Python.
• Scripting knowledge within UNIX/Linux OS as well as for automating tasks including shell, bash, Perl, or Python.
• Experience with Splunk or Dynatrace diagnostic and performance monitoring tools.
