The Clinical Transformation Specialist is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and enhancing the clinical communication technologies that enable safe, efficient, and coordinated patient care across Baptist Health. Working closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams, this role improves communication workflows, streamlines clinical collaboration, and ensures timely delivery of critical information to the appropriate caregivers. The analyst also partners with Information Technology teams and third‑party vendors to implement integrations, automate processes, and continuously optimize clinical communication platforms, including integration with the Epic electronic health record (EHR), driving innovation and operational excellence throughout the health system.
This role combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of clinical operations, Epic workflows, and interoperability to translate business and patient care needs into effective technology solutions. Success requires collaboration across clinical, operational, and technical teams to support system enhancements, resolve complex issues, improve user adoption, optimize Epic integrated communication workflows, and ensure technologies evolve to meet the changing needs of caregivers and patients.
ClinicalTransformation Specialist Responsibilities
- The Clinical Transformation Specialist is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical transformation and innovation work within the Health Transformation department.
- Utilizes critical analysis to plan, problem‑solve, and mitigate risk in the deployment of clinical applications and care transformation processes.
- Works with organizational teams to support, problem‑solve, and ensure successful implementation of clinical improvement workflows and processes involving technology, recognizing the impact of change and strategically planning communication and education.
- Is outcome‑focused and establishes criteria to measure and evaluate the impact of technology and processes to transform and optimize clinical workflows within the delivery of patient care.
- Assesses current state and future state workflows and works with stakeholders to identify gaps, retool processes to ensure improvement and reduction in content and workflow variation.
- Knowledgeable of technical application requirements including clinical, quality, regulatory, and operational perspectives.
- Supports the integration and use of evidence‑based methods, tools, and guidelines linked to effective outcomes while considering opportunities for standardization and cost efficiency.
- Is data‑driven and competent in data analytics to measure baseline and progress of goals, obtaining new insights and knowledge to connect outcomes.
- Effectively leads system‑wide cross‑functional teams in a matrix reporting structure, supporting collaboration and encouraging acceptance and enthusiasm for changes associated with Care Transformation.
- Over 5 years Clinical Experience Required
- 3–5 Years Informatics Experience Required
- 3–4 Years Data Analysis Experience Required
- Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS)
- Licensed RN or licensure in related healthcare field Required
