Compensation: $75,000.00 to $83,000 annually

Pavement Research Unit, FDOT State Materials Office, Gainesville, FL
This position focuses on the development, design, selection, testing, installation, calibration, and maintenance of DAQ hardware (sensors, I/O devices, chassis, etc.) as part of the overall APT effort, including the HVS machines, HVS Test Tracks, and both Test Roads. The incumbent will work closely with the Senior Instrumentation Software Engineer to ensure seamless integration of the comprehensive DAQ effort and will conduct field troubleshooting of the DAQ hardware.
Responsibilities- Design, select, test, install, calibrate, and maintain DAQ hardware for the APT effort.
- Work closely with the Senior Instrumentation Software Engineer to integrate DAQ hardware with software systems.
- Troubleshoot DAQ hardware in the field.
- Maintain existing APT DAQ hardware, including sensors and control boards.
- Coordinate the testing and calibration of sensors.
- Develop installation protocols focused on embedded sensors.
- Develop lessons‑learned documents detailing successes and failures of selected sensors, calibration procedures, and installation procedures.
- Highly motivated and organized employee with strong technical and problem‑solving skills.
- Background check required; a credit check may also be required.
- Responsible Employee designation under Title IX, reporting any allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, or child sexual abuse.
- Compliance with Florida Statute
1010.35 and university policies.
