The Help Desk Technician I provides a vital service to The Suddath Companies by supporting a wide range of technical solutions. Serving as the initial contact point, you will be the front lines for all requests and incidents that come into the Suddath Technology Department. Using documented processes, problem solving, and critical thinking skills you will resolve or facilitate the resolution of problems by troubleshooting software, hardware, and connectivity problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Answer, evaluate, and prioritize service requests received via telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person
- Assist with PC set-ups and configurations
- Maintain archived information in database
- Transport and relocate computers
- Resolve remote access issues, printing issues, and networks connectivity issues
- Analyze and correct problems using documented procedures, available tools, personal knowledge, and technical skills
- Ensure timely resolution/referral of user problems by documenting the impact to the user and by assigning an appropriate priority and resolution goal
- Previous experience working in an office environment
- Strong organizational skills to manage daily responsibilities
- Detail oriented; able to multi-task; enjoy fast paced environment
- Must have excellent communications skills and a positive attitude
- Strong customer service skills and excellent phone etiquette

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A.
A.) in IT/Computer Operations or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
