Position: Maintenance, Repair, & Overhaul (MRO) Planner

About the Position

A Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Planner ensures the smooth flow of the repair process from order placement through to delivery. The role manages customer repair orders, both physically and within the company’s computer system (Quantum Control), ensures turnaround times, handles customer quotes, coordinates third‑party vendor orders, tracks status, and maintains communication with internal teams and customers for high service and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Order Management & Follow‑Up: Place orders for parts and repairs, ensure timely sourcing, follow status to meet turnaround times, communicate with purchasing team.
  • Customer Quotes & Communication: Provide accurate quotes, follow up with customers, maintain clear communication under the Maintenance Manager’s supervision.
  • Vendor Coordination & Quality Control: Place repair orders with approved third‑party vendors, maintain virtual vendor quality audits and surveys.
  • Repair Order Monitoring: Monitor overdue orders, track progress, update notes, ensure tollgates are monitored.
  • Parts Sourcing & Management: Source parts as needed, ensure accuracy and timeliness to avoid disruptions.
  • Rotable Equipment Management: Send out rotables for repair, track and document the process.
  • System Updates & Record Maintenance: Update order status in Quantum Control, maintain accurate real‑time records.
  • Administrative Support: Prepare reports, maintain files, assist Maintenance Manager with daily operations, track inventory, coordinate with other departments.
  • Customer Service & Problem‑Solving: Resolve customer queries about timelines, costs, quality, and provide solutions efficiently.
  • Assist in Pulling Parts for Repairs: Support clerks in retrieving parts after approvals.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in order management, customer service, or administrative support in a technical, aviation, or repair services environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional email correspondence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record‑keeping.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Basic problem‑solving skills and the ability to follow established processes and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the aviation, aerospace, or MRO industry.
  • Familiarity with Quantum Control or similar ERP/MRO management software.
  • Knowledge of parts sourcing, vendor coordination, and repair order processing.
  • Experience preparing customer quotes and managing customer communications in a technical services environment.
  • Understanding of rotables, repair cycles, and repair management processes.
  • Prior experience supporting quality control or vendor performance evaluation processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical terminology related to parts and repairs.
