Position

Summary

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for assisting the Logistics Supervisor in coordinating the shipping activities for outbound shipments and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers and distribution centers. The role requires a highly organized, analytical, and customer‑focused individual who can manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in supporting operational excellence by improving logistics processes, maintaining accurate shipment documentation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance delivery performance and supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist, coordinate, and monitor the transportation of goods to ensure timely delivery to customers and distribution centers.
  • Oversee outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams, external partners, and customers to facilitate smooth logistics operations and resolve any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements for domestic and international shipments, including customs clearance and export/import regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to shipments and logistics operations; upload all shipping documentation, including pre‑ship photos, packing slips, and Bill of Lading (BOL) into Work Net.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and provide updates on shipment status to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to established safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Cover for the Shipping Supervisor when absent and perform any additional duties assigned by the manager or supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Attention to detail:
    Ability to accurately track and manage shipments and documentation.
  • Organizational skills:
    Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced logistics environment.
  • Communication skills:
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
  • Teamwork and collaboration:
    Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams, including warehouse personnel, production personnel, and transportation providers.
  • Customer focus:
    Dedication to meeting customer needs and ensuring on‑time delivery and high service quality.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods (approximately 40% of the workday).
  • Must lift up to 50 lbs.; buddy lift up to 100 lbs.; mechanical assistance required for loads exceeding 100 lbs. (no additional personnel).
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and climb.
  • Perform extended periods of computer‑based work, including close visual focus.
  • Office work is performed in a climate‑controlled environment. Warehouse work is not climate‑controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust, and fumes.

  • No direct supervision of others.

  • This is a 100% onsite role located at IEM’s Jacksonville facility.
