Job Summary

Operations and Supply Chain Process Engineer analyzes and improves processes across manufacturing, supply chain, warehousing, logistics, and order fulfillment. This role uses data analysis, process engineering, and Lean principles to improve efficiency, capacity, quality, and cost while implementing standardized and sustainable processes.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities Process Analysis & Improvement
  • Map current-state processes and design future-state workflows to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, and cost.
  • Analyze workflows, labor utilization, facility layouts, material flow, and operational capacity.
  • Develop and standardize procedures and processes across applicable functions.
Operations & Supply Chain Optimization
  • Assess and improve processes across manufacturing, procurement, planning, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and customer order fulfillment.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve throughput, inventory utilization, scheduling, material flow, and transportation.
  • Design and implement improvements to operational processes, workflows, facility layouts, and systems.
Technology, Automation & Analytics
  • Identify, design, build, implement, and manage technology and automation solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Partner with IT and functional teams to develop, test, deploy, and maintain system and process automation improvements.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and analytical tools to measure performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Continuous Improvement
  • Apply Lean principles, time studies, data analysis, and process engineering methodologies to eliminate waste and improve performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop sustainable solutions to operational issues.
  • Establish process controls and standard work to ensure improvements are maintained.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Customer Service, IT, and other departments to drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate cross-functional process redesign and support implementation, documentation, training, and change management.
  • Manage improvement initiatives from concept through implementation and ongoing performance monitoring.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering, industrial engineering, operations, supply chain, manufacturing, or continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience independently mapping current-state processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing and implementing future-state processes.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies, workflow analysis, capacity analysis, Lean principles, and data-driven problem solving.
  • Experience with ERP systems required; SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience developing operational KPIs, dashboards, and analytical tools preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and applicable medical device quality system requirements, with the ability to apply regulatory and quality requirements to process design and improvement.
  • Ability to independently analyze, map, and redesign operational processes and drive improvements through implementation.
  • Ability to translate operational needs into system requirements and partner with IT to develop technology and automation solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, organizational, and communication skills.
