Purpose of Position The Facilities Maintenance Technician manages building and equipment maintenance schedules. Responsibilities include scheduling preventative maintenance, responding to urgent maintenance calls, and maintaining the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.
Essential Functions- Ensures that all safety equipment (fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, etc.) are kept updated, meeting current building codes and in proper working order.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on buildings, safety and service equipment.
- Maintains records on company vehicles and ensures proper maintenance is performed.
- Maintains records on equipment and facilities of maintenance performed by other qualified trades persons.
- Coordinates annual maintenance and inspection of engine generator.
- Establishes and maintains maintenance procedures for facility fabrication and assembly equipment.
- Establishes and maintains procedures for disposal of shop items and equipment waste of environmentally sensitive materials such as waste oil, shop rags, etc.
- Ensures facility equipment is installed and maintained in a safe manner.
- Manages janitorial and cleaning services.
- Tracks and manages scrap materials and recycling.
- Performs other related duties which may be required by supervisor.

- Working knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory agencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- 4-6 years in Facilities Management
- Forklift certified and trained
- Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing preferred
Physical Demands:
Activities – Sitting 20%;
Walking/Standing 80%. Lifting – continuously lift up to 50 lbs. Bending, squatting, and climbing required. Vision – ability to see small or detailed items.
Mental Demands:
Interpret, analyze, research, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Environment:
Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
