TECHNICIAN, EQUIPMENT DISTRIBUTION WEEKEND/WEEKDAY NIGHTS

Location:

Shands Jacksonville, Jacksonville, FL

Salary: $19.00/hour

The Equipment Distribution Technician works under the direction of the Equipment Distribution Director and ensures cleaning, transportation, and par levels of various medical devices. The technician performs basic operations verification of mobile medical devices, and is expected to grow into a Biomedical Equipment Technician. The position requires regional travel.

• Perform proper cleaning and infection control procedures.
• Transport patient care equipment and supplies within allotted time.
• Perform basic operations checks on equipment before distribution.
• Deliver and set up required equipment.
• Return equipment to the Equipment Distribution department after pick up.
• Inspect equipment for proper preventative maintenance; deliver out‑dated items to Clinical Engineering.
• Complete all required trainings.
• Notify nursing staff of equipment pick‑ups and deliveries.
• Respond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments and customers to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns.
• Show flexibility to work augmented shifts based on unit needs and contractual requirements.
