Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: This position provides cleaning and light maintenance for the parish and school grounds. Work schedule will be Monday through Friday not to exceed 40 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assures grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner. Responsible for but not limited to mowing, edging, weed eater, mulching, leaf removal, brush removal, cutting of small tress, planting and weeding flower beds, debris removal.
- Performs minor maintenance at all parish properties, including but not limited to painting, changing light bulbs and ac filters, minor carpentry and trash removal.
- Provides general assistance as needed through setting up and taking down tables, chairs and dance floor for events.
- Responsible for the removal of trash after events as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by Pastor, Head of Maintenance, and Parish Administrator.
- Successful work experience in minor repair work in carpentry and painting.
- Successful work experience in maintaining grounds, parking lots and roads.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, lift, reach and stay on feet for the duration of shift.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal background check prior to employment and every five years.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
