Hiring:
Retail Cleaner — Jacksonville, FL (Window Washing)
Jacksonville, FL 32246 — St. Johns Town Center area
HIRING ASAP — next service is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23
REAL WINDOW CLEANING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
You must have hands-on experience washing windows with a scrubber/applicator and a squeegee. Spray-and-paper-towel does not count. Cleaning the windows at your own house does not count. This is a windows-ONLY job on a storefront that customers see, there is nobody on site to train you, and you need to walk in and work like you've been doing it for years.
If you don't have that experience, please don't apply to this one — we do post general cleaning jobs that would be a better fit.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Monthly window washing at a large retail store for a national home furnishings brand. Store name and exact address are shared after you're 100% confirmed and onboarded. This is steady, recurring work — same store, once a month, every month. We're hiring one more cleaner to work alongside our current cleaner — this is a 2-person job and one spot is open.
Soonest confirmed spot wins.
THE JOB
Pay: $120 per person, per visit — supplies are figured into that rate, so you must bring your own
Start time: 7:00 AM. You start on the EXTERIOR glass while the store is still closed. The store manager gets there around 8:45 AM and lets you in, and that's when you move to the interior.
Time on site: about 3.5 to 5 hours the first couple of visits. Once you and the other cleaner get a system down, we're estimating 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
Effective hourly: roughly $24–$34/hr to start, climbing to $34–$48/hr once you're dialed in
Schedule:
Monthly. Next service FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 — 7:00 AM start. Tell us which days you CANNOT work so future dates can be built around you.
PAYMENT
Paid per visit. Photos, check-in, and check-out MUST be completed — skipping them slows the whole process down quite a bit. When everything is done right, payment usually lands within 24 to 48 hours. The goal is same-day — that happens once the work is confirmed and the store manager is happy with the results.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Clean all storefront and perimeter glass inside and out, including full gridded glass wall sections. Entry door glass in and out. Polish handles, sills, and doorplates. Remove spider webs, gum, debris, and tape. Squeegee and detail all glass edges and corners. Wipe ledges dry. Detailed checklist provided after onboarding.
MOVING FURNITURE — READ THIS
This is a furniture store, and the interior glass has displays set up against it. You and your partner will be MOVING FURNITURE AWAY FROM THE INTERIOR WINDOWS to reach the glass — tables, chairs, shelving units, rugs, lamps, and breakable decor. You move it out, clean the glass, then put every piece back exactly where it was. Some of it is heavy and most of it is breakable or expensive.
This is a real part of the job, not an occasional thing, and it's a big reason the first visits run longer. If lifting and carefully handling merchandise isn't something you want to do, this isn't the right job.
SUPPLIES NEEDED (required — bring your own)
Professional window scrubber/applicator, squeegee, glass cleaning solution, microfiber or scrim cloths, a scraper or razor, and a bucket. A step stool or extension pole helps for the tops of the glass. For the 7 AM exterior start, bring your own water.
DRESS CODE
Slip-resistant shoes required — North Co will help you get a pair if needed. Clean, plain blue or black shirt until your branded North Co shirt at 3 months. Jeans or non-athletic shorts — no ripped clothing, no sweatpants, nothing revealing. Gloves optional. Jewelry to a minimum. Hat on or hair tied back. Arrive clean and presentable.
