Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and detailed-oriented Purchasing & Inventory Control Manager to oversee our sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management strategies. The ideal candidate will ensure the cost‑effective acquisition of goods, manage supplier relationships, and optimize inventory levels to meet production or customer demand while minimizing holding cost. You will lead initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, streamline supply chain processes, and drive profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to secure cost‑efficient and timely acquisition of materials and supplies.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with vendors to ensure the best value for the company.
- Evaluate vendor performance (quality, timeliness, price) and resolve supplier disputes.
- Create and process purchase orders (POs) and manage the supply chain to prevent stockouts and production delays.
- Monitor market trends and industry conditions to provide insights to senior management.
- Inventory audits.
- Establish and maintain inventory tracking systems (e.g., Min/Max levels, MRP, ERP) to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
- Analyze inventory turnover rates and identify opportunities for reducing dead stock/obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate with sales, production, and finance to forecast inventory needs and align with budgetary goals.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling and handling of inventory to minimize shrinkage and damages.
- Supervise, train, and mentor purchasing and inventory personnel.
- Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover, fill rates, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics or related field. In lieu of a college degree, the candidate must have 10 years in a purchasing leadership role.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in purchasing, inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret inventory data and make data‑driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay Range based on experience.
$70,000 – $90,000
