About the Firm
The Legal Department for Service Professionals is a boutique law firm based in Jacksonville, serving clients throughout Florida. We focus on supporting small professional service businesses in licensed, educated, and regulated industries. As a small, collaborative team, we value responsiveness, clear communication, and a client‑centered approach. We provide proactive, practical business counsel and build long‑term relationships with our clients. Our flat‑fee model reflects our commitment to transparency, efficiency, and well‑designed systems that allow us to deliver high‑quality legal services without surprises.
Our team currently includes two attorneys, four law clerks, an executive paralegal, a director of operations, and a marketing/operations assistant. One of our law clerks will join us as a licensed attorney later this year. We have ambitious growth plans and are seeking a Director of Operations who can help us build the structure, systems, and accountability needed to take the firm to its next stage.
The Director of Operations is a full‑time, salaried position responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the firm. This role makes sure work gets done, systems are followed, problems are solved, and nothing falls through the cracks. It is both strategic and hands‑on. This person will be involved in details, execution, follow‑up, and decision‑making, as well as oversight and accountability. This is a senior role with real responsibility for how the firm operates, grows, and serves clients.
It involves personally handling, managing, and following through on operational, administrative, marketing, sales support, and financial tasks that keep the firm running smoothly.
We’re looking for someone who has run or helped run operations in a professional services business (law firm experience is a plus, but not required). This person should have experience:
- Managing multiple moving parts at once
- Improving systems and workflows
- Coordinating across teams (admin, marketing, sales, vendors, etc.)
- Taking ownership of projects and seeing them through
Titles this person may have held before include operations manager, office manager, project manager, program manager, client experience manager, or similar senior support roles.

Operations & Firm Management
- Maintain and update the firm’s Operations Manual
- Assign project tasks and track project status
- Assign legal matters and manage team workflow
- Roll out new systems, tools, and internal processes
- Set clear expectations and accountability for work completion
- Track firm metrics and performance
- Manage vendors and service providers
- Perform HR tasks, hiring, and onboarding
- Oversee and manage client experience across all stages
- Identify problems, remove obstacles, and fix breakdowns in systems
- Coordinate in‑person and online events, speaking engagements, and conferences
- Draft and manage email campaigns and communications
- Manage the Pre‑Engagement Glide Path/sales funnel from lead intake through engagement
