Development Project Manager (On‑Site Data Center Construction)
OverviewResponsible for leading and managing the design, preconstruction, and construction activities of data center projects on campus sites.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple campus projects, maintaining updated budgets, schedules, and status reports.
- Create and communicate monthly development program and project status updates for executive reviews.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, design, and construction teams to develop a master development program, campus design solutions, and capital budgets.
- Handle entitlement and permitting, and implement multi‑phased site development plans.
- Write scopes of work, participate in procurement, cost‑estimate development, and evaluate pricing proposals.
- Coordinate submittals, monitor and create project budget/cost‑to‑date, and manage change orders.
- Establish and maintain site construction security and product deployment plans.
- Represent QTS in OAC meetings and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; serve as liaison.
- Provide due diligence support for potential new sites and enhance project management processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of experience in commercial construction, including Lump Sum, Construction Management @ Risk, and Design‑Build delivery methods.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel for executive reporting and budget management.
- Must be able to work on‑site daily in West Texas and travel as required.
- MBA or advanced master’s degree in Engineering, Management, or related field desirable.
- Experience delivering mission‑critical data center facilities.
- Extensive management of MEP trades.
