Job SummaryThe Operations Supervisor is a first-line people leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of a defined production area (e.g., Framing, Assembly, Integration, Test, or Fabrication). The Operations Supervisor ensures that all teams operate safely, meet takt time and schedule targets, and deliver high-quality output in alignment with KPIs. This role manages multiple Team Leads and Operators and partners closely with the Operations Manager to identify constraints, support continuous improvement, and maintain flow across the work center.
Shift: 3rd shift, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM.
Essential Functions- Lead daily execution of production activities in the assigned work center to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency targets.
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate Team Leads and Operators, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and teamwork.
- Ensure adherence to daily build schedules and takt time; escalate risks to production targets to the Operations Manager.
- Monitor and track performance against key metrics (output, defects, rework, attendance, downtime) and lead Tier 1 daily management meetings.
- Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure work center readiness (materials, tools, documents, etc.).
- Enforce safety protocols, 5S practices, standard work, and compliance with operational policies.
- Support onboarding, cross‑training, and upskilling of team members in partnership with Learning & Development.
- Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for issues impacting quality, delivery, or safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including 1+ years in a formal or informal leadership role.
- Experience with takt time, standard work, visual management, and daily tier meetings.
- Proficiency in basic digital tools (ERP, Excel, production dashboards).
- Strong people leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Coaching & performance management
- Root cause analysis (5 Whys, fishbone, etc.)
- Conflict resolution & feedback
- Understanding of Lean, 5S, and visual factory principles
- Ability to prioritize in a fast‑paced production environment
