Job Title:

Industrial Painter

The Industrial Painter will be responsible for painting the exterior and interior of industrial tanks or pressure vessels. This role involves working in an industrial setting where wearing a respirator is required. The Painter will utilize an airless spray system, along with brush and roll techniques, to perform finish work. Working with multiple types of paints, thinners, and chemical‑resistant linings, the Industrial Painter will apply heavy coatings with thick films, not water‑based paints.

Responsibilities include prepping surfaces, mixing paints, reading data sheets, and understanding key factors. This position involves working inside tanks and on scaffolding to spray tank tops, as well as using hand and power tools for final assembly after painting.

Shift and Pay

2nd shift nights Monday–Thursday: 4:30 PM – 3:15 AM, Friday: 2:30 PM – 11:15 PM, Saturday when needed: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

  • Will train for 2 weeks or so on days Mom‑Thurs 6:00am - 4:45pm
  • Pay : $25+ (based on skills and experience)
Responsibilities
  • Paint the exterior and interior of industrial tanks or pressure vessels.

  • Work with multiple types of paints, thinners, and chemical‑resistant linings.
  • Apply heavy coatings with thick films.
  • Prep surfaces and mix paints.
  • Read and understand data sheets to ensure proper application techniques.
  • Spray inside tanks and work on scaffolding to spray tank tops.
  • Use hand and power tools for final assembly of tanks once painted.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of industrial painting and spraying experience.
  • Experience in painting across various environments, not limited to production or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in working with thick film paint and multiple types of paint chemicals.
  • Knowledge and experience with exterior and interior paints, coatings, and linings.
  • Familiarity with paint booths, sanding, cleaning, production, blasting, sandblasting, hand tools, and spray painting.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Understanding of environmental factors affecting painting materials.
  • Knowledge of dew point to prevent bubbling and ensure paint adhesion.
  • Understanding of WFG and DFG differences.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment to meet millage targets.
  • Experience in painting within quality standards.
  • Ability to read and understand data sheets, including pot life, mix ratio, millage requirements, and recoat windows.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
