Duties
* You will operate pumps, valves, and pipelines to control the receipt, storage, transfer, and issuance of bulk petroleum products.
* You will monitor fuel transfer operations using electronic control systems, calculate flow rates, and adjust equipment to maintain safe and proper tank levels.
* You will conduct quality control inspections on tankers and barges, take fuel samples for analysis, and perform regular inventory gauging of storage tanks.
* You will perform operator-level preventative maintenance on the fuel distribution system, including lubricating valves, cleaning strainers, and examining pipes for leaks.
* You will maintain accurate records of all fuel transactions, operate various vehicles like refueler trucks and forklifts, and adhere to all safety and environmental regulations. Requirements Conditions of employment

* You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.
* You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
* This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
* This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including;
1) Operating equipment to control the movement of petroleum products, including receiving, storing, transferring, and issuing bulk fuels from storage tanks, ships, and barges by managing pipelines, valves, and pumps in accordance with written and verbal instructions;
2) Monitoring and controlling fuel transfer operations using electronic remote control boards, observing pressure gauges, and calculating fuel flow rates to maintain proper tank levels and system pressure; and
3) Using computer-based programs to maintain operational data and records, adhering to all safety regulations, and completing required training for fuel handling procedures. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
