Assembly Worker, 2nd Shift - Jacksonville, FL

We are looking for self‑motivated and safety‑conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in Jacksonville, FL.

New employees can earn $60,000 in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40‑50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.

There are additional ways to earn, including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

The position is full‑time with benefits.

2nd Shift – Monday to Thursday 4:00 PM to 1:30 AM and Friday 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Some weekend availability required.

Must be able to work all shift schedules.

Assembles steel joist components ready for final welding; performs such work consistent with corporate mission, values and department's financial objectives.

• Sets up jigs, reads and interprets shop drawings necessary for such work.
• Moves parts into position.
• Aligns parts.
• Tack welds or clamps parts into position ready for moving along conveyor to final welding area.
• Performs other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor, including, but not limited to, cleaning, metal scrap removal and other joist assembly‑related activities.

The range may vary by location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, steel industry preferred.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

• Ability to stand continuously, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Frequently reach overhead with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
• Climb or balance frequently.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• Work near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.
• Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• Noise in the work environment is generally very loud.
