Dimensional Inspector – Aircraft Technology Inc.

Job Description

Aircraft Technology, Inc., a subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is an FAA/EASA Part 145 Repair Station. ATI supports a wide range of rotary and fixed‑wing components found on both commercial and military platforms worldwide. The Dimensional Inspector will inspect aerospace and gas turbine engine components for airworthiness and conformity to OEM standards during receiving, in‑process, and final inspections. This position verifies and validates work performed by ATI and subcontractors to meet specifications in accordance with FAA and other world regulatory bodies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Visually inspect components for wear, corrosion, fretting, gouges, bent or worn features, elongated holes, and any other damage to the turbine engine.
  • Measure parts using various measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, surface gages, dial‑indicator gages, and other inspection tools.
  • Determine whether part features meet standards for serviceability, reparability, and overhauled condition.
  • Interpret standards provided by the OEM manuals and instructions for continued airworthiness and industry standards, and thoroughly document visual and dimensional inspection findings in reporting forms.
  • Document inspection – check customer purchase orders, vendor documentation, and ATI documentation.
  • Report findings clearly, recording location, size, acceptability parameters, and other relevant information.
  • Work closely with the engineering team on new component procedures and repairs to ensure continuous improvement in the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited school required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
  • FAA Repair Station experience preferred.
  • Exposure to visual inspection methods, techniques, practices, and aids appropriate for the article being inspected.
  • Proficiency in the use of various gages including calipers, borescopes, micrometers, optical or electronic comparators.
  • General knowledge of turbine engine components, functions, repairs and shop processes.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Computer Skills
    :
    Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Mathematical Skills
    :
    Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
  • Reasoning Abilities
    :
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Organizational Skills
    :
    Strong organizational skills, strict attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal supervision; flexible handling multiple tasks; high degree of accuracy in repetitive handling of technical documents.
  • Interpersonal Skills
    :
    Works well in a team environment and independently.
Physical Demands

The job requires regularly sitting; using hands to finger, handle, or feel; talking or hearing; and occasionally standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Must sometimes lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Office environment with phone/computer work, low noise level, except on the manufacturing floor where noise is medium to high level.
