Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role includes performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, ordering replacement parts, and supporting overall facility operations. The position requires strict adherence to safety policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.
This role requires flexibility and may include standby assignments, scheduled off-hours work, and emergency overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain manufacturing equipment as needed.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair air, water, and mechanical systems.
- Maintain pumps, valves, and related equipment, including rebuilds when necessary.
- Perform shaft alignment, bearing installation, and clearance adjustments.
- Repair and troubleshoot air compressors and chilled water systems.
- Maintain suction and pressure powder conveying systems.
- Install and maintain safety devices on equipment.
- Order and manage replacement parts and maintain maintenance inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and prints.
- Troubleshoot relay logic systems.
- Calibrate and repair instrumentation systems.
- Troubleshoot, replace, and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Maintain and repair computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or trade school degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Willingness to attend training sessions as required.
