Structural Welder Position
Job Description
- Ideally 1+ years of experience in a shipyard, the Navy, or marine industry working on submarines, carriers, Navy ships, or similar marine structures.
- Perform structural welding and fabrication for both new construction and repair of submarine and ship components.
- Utilize Pulse MIG (GMAW) and push button TIG (GTAW) welding processes to complete high‑quality welds on various metals.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to plan, sequence, and execute welding tasks accurately.
- Cut, burn, and weld metals to fabricate, modify, and repair structural components and assemblies.
- Prepare, clean, and fit surfaces and components prior to welding, ensuring proper alignment and fit‑up.
- Assemble, tack, and weld parts in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using processes such as FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW.
- Build up worn or defective surfaces and perform structural repairs on existing equipment and components.
- Operate burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials to specified dimensions and tolerances.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 – $30.00 per hour.
