Position Overview
Structures Repair and Modification Technician at Boeing Aerospace Operations, based in Jacksonville, FL.
Responsibilities- Assist in assembling craft structures and related components, using tools and resources such as jigs, drills, filing, honing, reaming, counter‑sinking, dimpling, burring, and fastening under general supervision.
- Set up and use precision measuring instruments (dial indicators, micrometers, gauges, protractors, calipers).
- Use common hand tools (drills, reamers, deburrers, files, rivet guns, bucking bars).
- Replace ribs, stiffeners, and stringers in skinned assemblies based on blueprints.
- Operate equipment such as brakes, grinders, band saws, and presses.
- Pick blind hole locations, correct can, buckles, and wrinkles in outer skins.
- Identify and correct corrosion, clean and treat, remove damaged areas, and fabricate parts to repair damaged area.
- Determine rivet patterns, layouts, etc.
- Document maintenance and repair actions, equipment status tags, logs, and parts requests.
- Assist with ordering parts, pan stock, tools, materials, and equipment as required.
- Wear required safety equipment while performing daily tasks.
- Communicate via basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office, to complete essential job requirements.
- Perform other duties as directed by management for the benefit of the company, program, or employees.
- Assist in close tolerance assembly operations such as shimming, fitting, trimming, and aligning where variances may occur.
- Basic Qualifications:
- Experience performing aircraft structural and mechanical work.
- Experience with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work 1st and/or 2nd shift.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA Certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant.
This position is 1st and/or 2nd shift.
Pay RangeSummary Pay Range: $48,450 - $65,550.
