Overview
We are looking to hire a hard-working and skilled Fabricator to fabricate, fit, and assemble the structural components of various equipment. The Fabricator will join, fabricate, and repair metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques, interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process, and inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness. The right candidate should be familiar with and comply with all safety requirements and protocols for working in a hazardous environment, as well as possess the ability to collaborate with other Fabricators and Welders on large-scale projects.
Responsibilities- Perform welding operations using appropriate welding techniques.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements and specifications.
- Set up and operate welding equipment including welding machines, gas cylinders, torches, and related tools.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and degreasing to ensure proper welding quality.
- Select and measure appropriate materials and components for welding based on project requirements.
- Weld components in various positions (e.g., flat, vertical, overhead) using appropriate procedures.
- Inspect welded joints for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform post-welding processes such as grinding, sanding, and polishing to achieve smooth finishes.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Proven quality experience working as a Fabricator (at least 2 years).
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- The ability to maneuver fabrication tools including but not limited to grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, etc.
- The ability to interpret blueprints and work specifications
- The ability to concentrate for extended periods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, time management, planning, and organizational skills.
