Overview

Collins Aerospace is hiring for a Production Worker II - 1st Shift at our Jacksonville, FL Busch Drive location. This is an onsite role. First shift – Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Fridays 5:00 am – 1:30 pm.

What You Will Do
  • Work closely with 10-20 other Composite Technicians under the supervision of a Working Lead and Production Supervisor to bring essential naval products to life.
  • Follow clearly described procedures and instructions; perform recurring assembly steps for parts, subassemblies, and larger components.
  • Perform casting of materials to fabricate parts and/or for repair applications using varied but generally non‑complex processes.
  • Fabricate polyurethane and similar materials into subassemblies for pre-fitting in preparation for bonding.
  • Load and operate presses, ovens, and autoclaves.
  • Adhere to equipment requirements and the method and sequences of operation for fabrication using materials such as polyurethane, fiberglass, epoxy resins, and similar materials.
  • Layout, pre-fit, assemble, and cast polyurethane and similar materials on a variety of molds and surfaces.
  • Verify work to ensure a defect-free part prior to presenting to quality control (inspection).
  • Provide specialized technical assistance and interact with team members to implement solutions.
  • Operate large manual, electric, and pneumatic tools in the assembly and disassembly of large heavy steel structures, molds, and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret standard work to perform necessary tasks and identify tooling and materials compatible with processing techniques identified in work instructions.
  • Apply skill in the use of production tools.
  • Be available for overtime when required to meet project schedule.
  • Cross-train within the department and support various manufacturing operations.
  • Lift up to 20 pounds regularly; may lift items over 20 pounds up to 40 pounds with mechanical lifting devices.
  • Work outdoors at limited capacity to meet project schedule; perform tasks including standing, kneeling, and working at elevated heights using ladders, platforms, and harnesses.
  • Use computers to record data (Excel) and track time (Autotime).
  • Must have or be willing and able to obtain certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, etc.).
Qualifications
  • You Must Have: Typically requires a high school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., GED) or vocational/technical education with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Must either have or be willing to obtain certification to operate a powered industrial vehicle (forklifts, etc.).
  • Qualifications We Prefer: 2+ years experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment or assembly labor; 2+ years in composite or rubber manufacturing is highly preferred; prior aerospace/marine industry experience is preferred.
