Position Summary

The Manufacturing Team Supervisor reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for leading the day-to‑day activities of the manufacturing team, including Tester/Packers, Service Technicians, Assembly Technicians, and Sewing Operators. This position oversees workflow, staffing, productivity, quality, training, and safety to ensure operational goals and customer commitments are met. Working closely with Quality and other supporting departments, the Manufacturing Team Supervisor promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while maintaining sufficient knowledge of departmental processes to effectively train employees and provide operational support when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production staff.
  • Assign work and monitor progress to ensure productivity and quality expectations are met.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees in their respective functions.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, disciplinary actions, and workforce planning in partnership with Human Resources and the Manufacturing Manager.

Production Operations

  • Manage workflow across testing, service, assembly, and sewing functions.
  • Monitor daily production schedules and labor utilization.
  • Ensure resources, materials, and staffing are available to meet production objectives.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Track and report key performance indicators related to productivity, quality, safety, and delivery.

Quality & Compliance

  • Work closely with Quality staff to ensure adherence to company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper completion of work orders, production records, and supporting documentation.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and corrective action activities.
  • Address quality concerns promptly and implement corrective measures.

Training & Technical Support

  • Provide technical guidance and hands‑on training to employees.
  • Maintain working knowledge of testing, packing, assembly, service, and sewing operations.
  • Perform production duties when required to support training, operational needs, or staffing shortages.
  • Assist in developing standard work instructions and training programs.

Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Conduct safety observations and corrective actions as necessary.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or technical education preferred.
  • Minimum 2‑5 years of manufacturing, production, aerospace, aviation, or related operational experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of production processes, workflow management, and quality systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and communicate work instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production tracking systems.
  • Experience in FAA‑regulated, aerospace, aviation, or manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, train, coach, and engage a diverse workforce.
  • Experienced supervising cross‑functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
