Position Summary

Unison Industries is seeking an experienced Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer to support its Ignition Exciter manufacturing operation in Jacksonville, Florida.

This role will provide manufacturing engineering leadership and technical support for processes associated with the production of ignition exciters, igniters, speed sensors, harnesses, and related aftermarket repair operations
.

The Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for driving manufacturing process improvements, troubleshooting complex production and quality issues, implementing tooling and equipment improvements, and supporting engineering changes, Lean initiatives, and new product introduction activities.

The successful candidate will have a relevant bachelor's degree and 5–8 years of manufacturing engineering experience
, preferably supporting electrical products or manufacturing processes. Experience in aerospace or other regulated manufacturing environments involving electrical products, assemblies, test equipment, or related processes is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on manufacturing engineering support for Ignition Exciter manufacturing operations
    .
  • Lead efforts to improve process performance, production continuity, manufacturing efficiency, throughput, and product quality.
  • Serve as a technical resource to Production, Quality, and Engineering teams for complex manufacturing issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize manufacturing processes, work instructions, process specifications, standard work, and technical documentation
    .
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and documentation support standardized and compliant production.
  • Lead structured root‑cause analysis of manufacturing, quality, equipment, and process problems.
  • Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify systemic manufacturing issues and develop sustainable solutions rather than temporary fixes.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects involving cycle‑time reduction, scrap reduction, rework reduction, capacity improvement, process capability, and production efficiency.
  • Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, equipment, automation, and process improvements
    .
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improved quality, efficiency, ergonomics, and throughput.
  • Support equipment selection, process validation, implementation, and production readiness.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering on nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, process controls, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on product and process changes and ensure effective implementation on the manufacturing floor.
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and other engineering changes affecting manufacturing.
  • Support new product introduction activities, including manufacturing readiness, process development, tooling, work instructions, and production implementation.
  • Analyze manufacturing and production data to identify trends, process variation, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and communicate production performance metrics and improvement reports.
  • Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to implement standardized work and sustain process improvements.
