Position Summary

Unison Industries is seeking an Entry Level Manufacturing Engineer to support its Ignition Exciter manufacturing operation in Jacksonville, Florida.

The facility manufactures ignition exciters, igniters, and speed sensors and performs harness and exciter aftermarket repair operations. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to improve manufacturing processes, resolve production issues, maintain process documentation, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
, with demonstrated experience in process documentation, manufacturing troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and Lean/continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day Ignition Exciter manufacturing operations to improve process performance, production continuity, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide timely engineering support to production personnel.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and other process documentation
    .
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation supports standardized, repeatable, and compliant production processes.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on manufacturing, quality, equipment, and process issues.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address recurring manufacturing problems.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, rework, downtime, cycle time, and process variation.
  • Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of tooling, fixtures, equipment, and process improvements
    .
  • Work with Production and Engineering to improve manufacturing throughput, process capability, and product quality.
  • Participate in engineering change implementation and support the transition of changes into production.
  • Assist with new product introduction and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Analyze production data and manufacturing performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support production reporting and communicate manufacturing issues, status, and improvement activities to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Quality to address nonconformances and manufacturing-related quality issues.
  • Support investigations involving electrical products, assemblies, test equipment, and manufacturing processes as applicable.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, compliance, and process discipline.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
    .
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
    .
  • Experience developing and maintaining manufacturing process documentation and work instructions.
  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and production issues.
  • Demonstrated experience with root-cause analysis and corrective action
    .
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing documentation, and process requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Production, Quality, and Engineering personnel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple manufacturing issues and improvement activities simultaneously.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check and 5-panel drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with electrical products, assemblies, ignition systems, sensors, harnesses, or related electromechanical products
    .
  • Experience with manufacturing test equipment or production testing.
  • Experience with tooling and fixture development.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawings.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, or similar.
  • Experience with Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, standard work, value-stream…
