A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Demand Planner / Material Planner to support production planning, material availability, inventory management, and demand forecasting. This position works closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and suppliers to ensure materials are available to support customer demand while maintaining appropriate inventory levels and controlling costs.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on manufacturing planning experience, strong analytical skills, advanced Excel capabilities, and experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations to understand current demand and future forecasting requirements.
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on incoming customer orders and anticipated demand.
- Optimize production capacity and material flow across manufacturing operations.
- Monitor raw material requirements and inventory levels to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
- Use ERP/MRP systems to analyze demand, supply, inventory levels, and material requirements.
- Work with leadership to identify capacity constraints and recommend staffing or production adjustments.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships and assist with negotiating favorable cost and service terms.
- Monitor material availability, usage, supplier lead times, inventory levels, and delivery performance.
Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications, quality standards, and cost expectations. - Prepare and analyze production and inventory reports to support operational decision-making.
- Identify and implement improvements to planning, inventory, and production processes.
- Experience with manufacturing demand forecasting and material planning
. - Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, and material requirements.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems
. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to create, analyze, and interpret reports to drive production decisions.
