University Engagement & Events Coordinator - North Florida. The University Engagement and Events Coordinator (internally known as Member Recruitment Coordinator or MRC) is a public-facing member of NMDP. This position educates, engages, and inspires the public for their support and participation in the mission through presentations, awareness events, celebrations, and registry recruitment event execution. This role travels regularly throughout the state of Florida and will be based out of the Jacksonville, FL metro area.

• Primary responsibilities include building and sustaining relationships and driving committed individuals to join the NMDP registry. Target audiences include Colleges, universities and technical or vocational schools;
  Community-based organizations and coalitions;
  Service sectors (such as police and fire academies and units); with a specific focus to increase the diversity of the national registry through engagement and education of ethnically diverse communities.
• Deliver excellent customer service through the planning and coordination of registry awareness, education, and commitment activities to align with the sponsor’s vision and meet organizational goals and targets.
• Collaborate with internal partners (marketing, volunteer services, and the NMDP Foundation) as well as external partners to maximize reach; maintain ongoing knowledge of HLA and blood stem cell transplantation to educate and influence target audiences.
• Work collaboratively with a regional team to accomplish monthly, quarterly, and annual registry enrollment goals.
• Plan, organize, and deliver mission-focused events (live and digital) that ensure excellent registry member experience and provide exceptional customer service to community partners and sponsors; activate volunteers and sponsors to achieve event targets, including promotions and sponsor network engagement.
• Educate prospective volunteer donors regarding NMDP’s mission, the donation process, and registry member expectations; respond to questions and concerns at time of engagement; implement training and procedures for community engagement, education, and donor recruitment.
• Create an annual activity plan including specific rotations at each target college campus; meet defined goals and targets focusing on diverse recruitment platforms; keep leadership informed of progress toward plan goals.

• Collaborate with account managers and network community engagement partners to meet NMDP strategic goals and initiatives.
• Partner with network Transplant Centers to identify patients and families interested in supporting NMDP through community awareness efforts.
• Provide support to patient families to evaluate needs and refer to appropriate NMDP support services; collaborate with internal partnership team to support leads.
• Identify and share impactful patient, donor, and related stories with marketing; collaborate to pitch stories to the media.
• Participate in media events and represent NMDP in media interviews; communicate all media opportunities to marketing liaisons.
• Engage in team building and collaborate with other functions to support donor recruitment, donor availability, and donor experience objectives and programs.
• Promote and encourage financial support of the NMDP Foundation.
• Speak to community groups to inform the audience of NMDP activities and recruit potential volunteers.
• Collaborate with account managers to recruit and retain volunteers, including episodic and long-term volunteers; interview, screen, train, and recommend volunteer placement as needed; ensure volunteers are properly trained for task.
• Effectively supervise volunteers throughout the engagement process.
• Comply with requirements to track volunteer data and hours.
• Support and participate in volunteer recognition and appreciation activities.
