Volunteers at the Y are the catalyst for change in our communities. The YMCA of Florida’s First Coast takes great pride in its volunteers; without them, we would not exist. Volunteerism has been at the core of the YMCA since its founding in 1844.
Qualifications- Must pass Level 2 Background Screening, a fingerprint check of state and federal criminal history information conducted through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
- Sports coaching
- Special events
- Greeting members at Welcome centers
- Assisting youth with reading skills
- Mentoring teens
- Fund‑raising
- Advisory Board participation
- Assist with MIA calls (14 days, 30 days, 60 days, 90 days)
- Serve as program leads (lead educational and skill‑based programs/activities)
- Assist with cleaning of equipment
- Assist with set up and break down of events
- Intake to the facility the APP (most get the initial tour for a more personalized experience)
