The Education Specialist is part of a professional team focused on community education, specifically two programs: engaging men and boys as allies in the prevention of violence against women and girls, and addressing the co-occurrence of domestic violence and substance use with prevention strategies.
The role involves facilitating curriculum, collaborating with internal and community partners, attending community engagements, and supporting the development of education materials, multimedia assets, and evaluative tools. The position requires a clear communicator with strong work ethic, collaboration, organization, and attention to detail;
Microsoft Office (or equivalent) experience is required. Evening and Saturday hours may be required for community events, and the role is in‑person only (remote work is not eligible).
- Work collaboratively with the Community Education department to determine opportunities for project facilitation.
- Facilitate educational engagements through the project.
- Participate in Project Team and Coordinated Community Response (CCR) Team meetings, in alignment with the project.
- Recruit community partners for participation in educational engagements and the CCR.
- Develop printed and multi‑media assets for project use.
- Attend community‑based events to share information and raise awareness about the project.
- Contribute content for social media platforms, websites, and related assets.
- Maintain records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and project deliverables.
- Strategically train professionals in behavioral health, drug treatment, health care, and related fields about the defined area and prevention strategies.
- Facilitate educational engagements to enhance community-level awareness of the area.
- Attend community‑based events to share information and raise awareness, aiming to prevent both domestic violence and substance use.
- A bachelor’s degree in education, training, social service work, or a related field is preferred (equivalent experience considered). Two years of experience in facilitating community‑based trainings is preferred.
- Experience in sexual assault or domestic violence programs is a plus.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual capabilities are a plus.
- A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation are required; vehicle insurance must be maintained and meet Hubbard House, Inc. eligibility requirements.
- Must successfully clear background screening: level‑2 background screening including a criminal background check through the Department of Family and Children (DCF), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the National Sex Offender Registry (at minimum); a motor vehicle report (MVR) run against the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); and a drug, alcohol, and TB screening.
- Must produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E‑Verify).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, high work ethic, collaboration, organization, and attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (or equivalent) is required.
- Availability to work evenings and Saturdays for community events; work is in‑person only.
Full time, non‑exempt. This is an onsite position.
