Description

This position is a key member of the Development team responsible for securing funding that advances the mission of Els for Autism. Responsibilities include managing the full life cycle of grant opportunities – from research and proposal development to submission, reporting and compliance – to ensure alignment with both organizational priorities and funder requirements.

The Grants Manager works collaboratively across departments to gather information, develop compelling narratives and budgets to produce high quality proposals in support of strategic goals.

Other Duties
  • Developing and maintaining a multi‑year grant strategy including the coordination of internal reviews and submission deadlines.
  • Monitoring trends in the philanthropy landscape to inform proposals and stay current on best practices in nonprofit grant writing.
  • Draft, edit and submit Letters of Inquiry, grant proposals and applications.
  • Tracking applications, awards and reporting requirements and collaborating with marketing/communications to provide grant‑related content and updates for use in social media, website updates, newsletters, etc.
  • Providing timely and accurate post‑award reporting highlighting outcomes and impact.
  • Serving as a professional ambassador for Els for Autism in communications with current and prospective funders in support of funder relationships.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of grant writing, budget development, and grants management experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing a grant portfolio of $2.5 million or more, including proposal development, reporting, compliance and stewardship.
  • Strong research, analytical and strategic thinking skills, with knowledge of grant proposal and reporting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management systems.
  • Ability to translate data and metrics into compelling narratives.
  • Preferred experience in Autism, disability services or human services.

Performance expectation is to grow the grant portfolio from $2.5 million to at least $4 million by 2029.
