Classification
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree with a major in nursing or another health‑related area, licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes.
- Provide direct care and case management to adolescent, adult, and pediatric patients with infectious diseases and HIV, including inpatient care at UF Health.
- Work within an established protocol/scope of practice in collaboration with licensed medical professionals.
- Participate in the clinical care of patients, including those enrolled in research trials, under physician supervision.
- Assist with medical program, research, and clinical operations for pediatric, adult, and adolescent patients in a multi‑disciplinary outpatient medical clinic (UF CARES).
- Counsel patients regarding their health and provide primary and specialty care to HIV‑infected and affected patients.
- Assess and manage patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions utilizing appropriate consultation and established protocols.
- Establish a plan of care with patient and family that maximizes health potential.
- Prescribe medications and/or recommend treatments within scope of practice, perform required procedures, and document care accurately in EPIC EMR.
- Facilitate patient participation in health and medical care by providing information needed for health decision‑making.
- Participate as a team member in the provision of health and medical care, interacting with professional colleagues for comprehensive care.
- Collect data and interpret laboratory, radiology, and pathology reports to formulate diagnosis and monitor treatment progress.
- Provide health education and utilize community resources for patients and families.
- Develop, implement, and expand programs and initiatives.
- Provide care to patients on research protocols: explain protocols, respond to inquiries, schedule participation, ensure compliance, and inform referring physicians.
- Implement protocol requirements, facilitate patient consents, determine eligibility, prepare Institutional Review Board applications, and enroll patients in studies.
- Report to principal investigators and maintain quality monitoring of documentation and protocol adherence.
- Serve as a resource to research coordinators and advocate for patient safety.
$115,000 to $130,000 annually, depending on education and experience.
Required Qualifications- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- Master’s degree with appropriate training as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program.
- Experience in an ambulatory care setting (preferred).
- Experience with HIV (preferred).
- Background check required.
