Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Surgical Oncology Baptist MD Anderson C

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to support the Section of Surgical Oncology. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in oncology and surgical specialties.

• Provide care for patients with malignant and complex conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissues.
• First assistant in the OR (robotic, laparoscopic, open cases).
• Round on patients in the acute post‑operative phase admitted for surgical oncology and colorectal surgery.
• Post‑operative wound care and pain management.
• Collaborate timely with consulting physicians.
• Coordinate discharges from the hospital.
• Evaluate new consults.
• Outpatient care: evaluate new and existing patients in collaboration with staff physicians and the multidisciplinary team, complete documentation promptly, and perform clinic procedures as applicable.
• Hours:
  
  Monday – Friday.
• Shared night and weekend call: home call during the week and weekend call with inpatient rounding and OR coverage for emergency cases.
