Overview
Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs patient care duties. The LPN provides care based on the Nurse Practice Act and his/her assessed competency utilizing hospital established standards of care and practice. Assignments are performed appropriately to the age and developmental level of patients being served.

Required
Education:
Vocational Training. Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program. 30‑hour IV Therapy Course for LPNs, which has been approved by the Florida Board of Nursing pursuant to Rule 64B9‑5.006.
Necessary
Skills:
- Adheres to hospital policies and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
- Demonstrates effective problem solving and communication skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals.
Required Licensure/
Certifications:
Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Florida. Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
Required Experience:
Less than one (1) year - Training as an LPN.
Preferred Experience:
One (1) year as an LPN with current BLS certification.
