Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN)
The Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients in select phases of Perioperative care (as competency demonstrates). This care utilizes the nursing process and the standards of care of a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/ tasks may be delegated to Surgical Technologists, Patient Care Associated, Guest Associates and Anesthesia Technologists.
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, the RN manages individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Required
Education:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
- BSN within 3 years of hire
Required license/certifications:
- Licensed RN in the State of Florida
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
Required experience:
- 1-2 years of related OR experience.
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant perioperative nursing experience
