Job Summary and Qualifications

In collaboration with the patient, their family, and the healthcare team, the acute care Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan to achieve goals for the 4 West Medical/Surgical Ortho Nursing Department. You serve as a key position on the interdependent team, holding responsibility for positive patient and departmental outcomes.

What you will do in this role:
  • You will maintain overall accountability for assigned patients
  • You will manage the efficient flow of patient care including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care and comfort, and arranging for admissions, testing, and discharges
  • You will maintain and review patients’ records, including posting test and examination results
  • You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders
  • You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans
  • You will respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing:
    Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state in which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi‑State RN license
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification required
  • At least 6 months of prior RN experience
Shift Details

Full‑time, night shift position. Shifts are 12 hours in length (approximately 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Rotating weekends and holidays are required.
