Registered Nurse, Main Pediatric Operating Room Wolfson Children's Hospital

Position Overview

Baptist Medical Center is looking to add a Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Operating Room at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. This is a Full‑time, Days opportunity that requires a 30‑minute response time for call and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay. A sign‑on bonus up to $10,000 may be available.

As a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. You will act as a Circulating Nurse, serving as the patient’s primary advocate during the intra‑operative period. Your duties include:

• Providing patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and adhering to the mission statement.
• Supervising support personnel and coordinating care from ancillary services.
• Involving patients and significant others (SO) / families in the development of individualized care plans.
• Educating patients, SOs, and families about the disease process and plan of care.
• Preparing and coordinating assigned rooms/cases, assessing patient care needs, and anticipating case needs.
• Performing call, weekend, and holiday coverage.
• Maintaining 1–2 years of OR Circulating experience or completion of an AORN Pre‑operative 101 Program.

Performance Standards:
Utilize “ORRN” standards for ORs and “RN” standards for the ICU.

• Associate of Science in Nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• 1–2 years of cardiac experience preferred.
• 1–2 years of telemetry experience.
• Hospital experience.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Conscious Sedation Certification preferred.
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred.
• Licensed Registered Nurse required.
