Registered Nurse, Pre-Op​/Phase Recovery, PRN, Baptist South

Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (Pre‑op/Discharge) at Baptist South as a PRN position. The RN will have a call requirement with a 40-minute response time and will qualify for competitive differentials and additional call compensation.

• Providing for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement of the organization.
• Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
• Including patients and significant others / families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Education of patients, significant others, and families about their disease process and plan of care.
• Coordination and preparation of the assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs, and anticipation of the needs of the case.
• Serving as patient advocate and providing care to critical patients that require a higher acuity of care.
• Participating in the call rotation and responding within the scheduled time frame.

• 2–3 years of Surgical Services experience.
• 2–3 years of Critical Care Nursing experience.
• Emergency Department experience (desired).

• Associate of Science in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred).
• Conscious Sedation Certification (preferred).
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) (preferred).
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) (preferred).
• Licensed Registered Nurse (required).
