Job Summary

The Cardiac Step Down/Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the Cardiac PCU RN provides pre‑operative and post‑operative nursing care and advocates for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical‑surgical patients.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school:
    Associate’s Degree in Nursing or higher.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi‑State RN license.
  • Current AHA or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification.
  • Current AHA or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification.
  • At least 6 months of prior RN work experience.
Shift

Full‑time, day shift. 12‑hour shifts (approximately 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM). Rotating weekends and holidays required.
