Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Neurosurgical Progressive Care Team at Baptist Downtown. This is a full-time night shift opportunity.
RNs on this unit provide post-operative care to patients recovering from spinal procedures, diagnostic angiograms, aneurysms, and craniotomies as well as patients who may have had strokes, migraines, seizures, MS, Myasthenia Gravis, Guillain Barre Syndrome, etc.
RNs with strong clinical skills who are looking to grow in knowledge and experience are encouraged to apply. This includes RNs who have NOT worked in neuro who are compassionate and caring, willing to learn, team players, have strong clinical skills, and are reliable are also encouraged to apply. With our strong education and training, we will teach you what you need to know about neuro.
As a Registered Nurse in the Neurosurgical PCU, you will:
Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition, including chronic medical and minor injuries or illnesses
Perform physical assessments and neuro checks
Provide surgical site care to prevent infection
Serve as patient advocate and educate patients and loved ones to their disease process and plan of care
Work closely with physicians and other departments, such as physical, occupational, and speech therapists
Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities
Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement
Experience Requirements:
Less than 1-year Medical Surgical Nursing Experience Telemetry Experience Hospital Experience Education & Credential Requirements:
Associate of Science in Nursing Required Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) Required (American Heart Association)
Licensed Registered Nurse Required Primary
