Certified Nurse Assistant at Riverside Park Surgi Center – Riverside Park Surgical Center is seeking a motivated Part Time Certified Nurse Assistant to join our team.

Job Summary
  • Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Prepares and administers prescribed medications orally, subcutaneously, or through an IV, and records them.
  • Records patients’ medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, interpreting and recording electronic displays.
  • Initiates corrective action whenever the patient displays adverse symptomatology.
  • Provides bedside care for a wide variety of medical patients, including pre‑ and post‑surgery patients.
  • Initiates patient education plans, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Teaches patients and significant others how to manage their illness/injury, explaining post‑treatment home care needs.
  • Changes dressings, inserts catheters, and starts IVs.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physicians during examination and treatment of patients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to rehabilitation patients.
  • Performs job tasks to ensure personal, patient, and departmental safety.
  • Communicates effectively and professionally with internal and external customers; documents required information according to hospital policy.
  • Functions in an organized and time‑conscious manner.
  • Presents self in a professional manner.
  • Initiates and documents patient teaching, including family or significant others, in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members; uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.
  • Acquires and maintains current knowledge pertinent to nursing practice in rehabilitation.

Required Skills
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification
  • One year of experience directly related to specified duties and responsibilities is preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories
  • Patient interviewing skills
  • Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols
  • Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly; strong knowledge base relative to surgical procedures and management of surgical patients
  • Understanding of principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
