Registered Nurse, PACU Evenings, Baptist South

Baptist Health is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at our Baptist South location. This is a Full‑Time evening shift position with a 40‑minute call response time and a call‑required schedule. Shift: 9:30 am–10:00 pm.

As a Registered Nurse in the PACU, your daily responsibilities include monitoring post‑operative patients’ levels of recovery and consciousness, treating pain, nausea, and other post‑operative symptoms, administering prescribed medication, regularly checking vital signs, and educating patients and families on post‑surgery care. You will also update charts, patient files, and medical records.

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Supervise supportive personnel and coordinate care with ancillary services.
• Involve patients and significant others/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Educate patients/families about the disease process and the care plan.
• Coordinate and prepare assigned room/case, assess patient care needs, and anticipate case needs.
• Participate in the call rotation.

• 2–3 years Surgical Services Experience.
• 2–3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience.

• Associate of Science in Nursing (required).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

• Licensed Registered Nurse (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (required).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (preferred).
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) (preferred).
• Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) (preferred).
