Nurse Lic Pract Visit | Home Health | PRN

Overview

Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs patient care duties. The LPN provides care based on the Nurse Practice Act and his/her assessed competency utilizing hospital established standards of care and practice. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served.

• Required
  
  Education:
  
  Vocational Training;
  Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• 30‑hour IV Therapy Course for LPNs, approved by the Florida Board of Nursing pursuant to Rule 64B9-5.006.
• Necessary
  
  Skills:
  
  Adheres to hospital policies and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care; demonstrates effective problem solving and communication skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals.
• Required Licensure/
  
  Certifications:
  
  Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Florida;
  Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
• Required Experience:
  
  Less than one year – training as an LPN.
• Preferred Experience:
  
  One year as an LPN with current BLS certification.
